MarkIt Legal™ is a Florida law firm. This policy explains what information markitlegal.com collects, why, and what we do with it. It covers the website only. Information you provide to us as a client is separately protected by the attorney-client privilege and by our professional obligations of confidentiality.
Information you give us
When you submit a form on this site, we collect what you type into it. Depending on the form, that is your name, email address, phone number, the practice area you selected, and any message you write. We use that information only to respond to you and to evaluate whether we can help.
Please do not submit confidential details about a legal matter through this website. Until an engagement agreement is signed, information sent through this site may not be privileged.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server log information when you visit, which can include your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the time of the request. This is used for security and to keep the site running.
Third parties that receive information
- Our practice management provider operates our consultation request form. Information you enter in that form is sent directly to that provider and stored in our practice management system.
- Our website hosting provider hosts this site and may process forms submitted through it on our behalf.
- Fonts are served directly from this website. No third-party font service receives your IP address when a page loads.
- Our email marketing provider receives your name and email address if you join a waitlist, request guides or other materials, or subscribe to updates from us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not run third-party analytics. If that changes, we will update this policy and this section will say what is being used.
Email from us
If you join a waitlist, request a guide or subscribe to updates, you agree to receive email from us related to what you signed up for. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops those messages. We may still contact you directly about a matter you raised with us.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you and to meet our record-keeping and professional obligations, and then delete it. Client records are retained according to our file retention obligations as a law firm.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS and we take reasonable measures to protect information submitted to us. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to hello@markitlegal.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. Some information may need to be retained where we have a legal or professional obligation to keep it.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top reflects the most recent version, and the version posted here is the one that applies.
