Trademark Registration
Your name is usually the most valuable thing you own and the easiest thing to lose. We handle federal trademark registration from clearance through enforcement, for clients in any state.
From clearance to registration to enforcement.
- Clearance searches. Before you print packaging or buy the domain, we find out whether the mark is available and whether someone else can stop you.
- Federal applications. Filing with the USPTO, including the classification and specimen decisions that determine whether the application survives.
- Office action responses. Most refusals are answerable. We draft the response and the legal argument behind it.
- Statements of use and maintenance. Registration is not the end. Marks have to be maintained on a schedule or they lapse.
- Enforcement and cease and desist. When someone uses your mark, a registration is what gives you leverage.
Why trademark clients come to a boutique firm
Filing services will take your money and submit whatever you typed into the form. They do not tell you that your mark is merely descriptive, that your goods description is too narrow to protect what you actually sell, or that there is a prior registration that will end the application. Those judgments are the work. Everything else is data entry.
One common misconception: forming an LLC does not protect your name. The state checks for duplicate entity names, not trademark rights. We handle business formation too, and we treat the two as separate decisions.
Because trademark law is federal, we are not limited to Florida for this work. We represent founders, product brands and creators and influencers nationwide.

Common questions
Do I need a lawyer to register a trademark?
No, but the refusal rate for self-filed applications is meaningfully higher. Most problems trace back to two decisions made before filing: whether the mark is registrable at all, and how the goods and services are described. Both are hard to fix after the application is submitted.
Can you handle my trademark if I am not in Florida?
Yes. Trademark registration is governed by federal law and handled through the United States Patent and Trademark Office, so we represent trademark clients anywhere in the country.
How long does federal trademark registration take?
Timelines vary with USPTO workload and whether your application receives an office action. A straightforward application with no refusals typically takes several months to reach registration, and applications that draw an office action take longer.
What is a clearance search and why does it matter?
A clearance search looks for existing marks that could block your registration or expose you to an infringement claim. It is the step that tells you whether a name is worth building a brand on, which is why it belongs before the application and ideally before the launch.
Protect the name before you build on it.
Tell us the mark and what you sell, and we will tell you whether it is worth filing.
